Sebastian Coates eyes FA Cup success

Liverpool defender Sebastian Coates believes that his side can learn from last season's FA Cup final defeat and go one better in this year's competition.

Liverpool defender Sebastian Coates has challenged his teammates to go one better than their FA Cup performance last season and win the competition.

The Reds lost out to Chelsea in the final of last season's tournament, preventing them from claiming a cup double having already won the League Cup.

Coates admitted that that loss was tough to take, but believes that the side can learn from that experience and go one better this time around.

"It's always tough when you lose a game, even more so when it's a final. I think we'd had a great Cup campaign and you could almost say that we deserved to win the trophy, but that's football," said the Uruguayan.

"I think we need to learn from that defeat and do all we can to reach the final once again and this time try and win it."

Liverpool begin their FA Cup campaign against Conference side Mansfield Town this afternoon.
