Jurgen Klopp has revealed that injured duo Philippe Coutinho and Mohamed Salah will miss Liverpool's meeting with Everton in the third round of the FA Cup.
Both players sat out the New Year's Day win over Burnley and were touch-and-go for Friday's Merseyside derby at Anfield.
Reds boss Klopp will have to make do without two members of his star-studded attack line, but new £75m defender Virgil van Dijk is expected to come in for his debut.
Speaking to reporters on the eve of the match, Klopp said: "Mo and Phil are not available. Virgil is obviously healthy, we'll see what we do with him."
Pushed on whether Coutinho's absence was related to talk of a switch to Barcelona being close to finalised, Klopp offered no comment.
Klopp also confirmed that Loris Karius will get the nod over Simon Mignolet in goal, and striker Dominic Solanke is likely to start through the middle.
