Adam Lallana believes that Liverpool "thoroughly deserved" their 2-1 win over Crystal Palace in the FA Cup.

Adam Lallana has claimed that Liverpool 'thoroughly deserve' their place in the last eight of the FA Cup after a 2-1 win against Crystal Palace on Saturday.

The former Southampton captain scored the winning goal after Daniel Sturridge had cancelled out Fraizer Campbell's opener, and Lallana believes that the Reds were good value for their victory at Selhurst Park.

He told beIN Sport: "Regardless of who is in it, we feel we have got a good chance. We'll just prepare for whoever is in our way in the next round and go into the game looking to get the win.

"We knew we were going to have to be patient. We came here a few months ago and were in a completely different place to where we are now. We thoroughly deserve our place in the next round.

"We were still confident at half-time. We created a lot of chances in the first half, we just weren't ruthless enough. Mario [Balotelli] came on for an extra presence up front."

Liverpool still harbour hopes of a cup double this season and host Besiktas in the Europa League on Thursday.
