Sports Mole picks a combined XI from the squads of Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool, including only players available for Saturday's Premier League clash.

Liverpool will be looking to put their 20th Premier League win of the 2019-20 campaign on the board this weekend when they travel to the English capital to take on Tottenham Hotspur.

The Reds have won 19 and drawn one of their 20 league outings this term, leaving them 13 points clear of second-placed Leicester City with a game in hand.

Tottenham, meanwhile, currently sit sixth in the Premier League table, six points behind fourth-placed Chelsea having already dropped points in 13 of their 21 outings this term.

Liverpool have won each of the last four meetings between the two teams in all competitions, while Tottenham have been victorious in just one of their last 16 clashes with the reigning European champions.

Some of the best players that the Premier League have to offer will be on display in this fixture, and with that in mind, Sports Mole has picked out a combined XI from both squads, using only players available for Saturday's late kickoff in London.

The fact that Hugo Lloris is still out with an elbow injury means that it is not difficult to pick the goalkeeping position. Paulo Gazzaniga has put in a string of strong performances since stepping into the side as number one, but Alisson Becker is the obvious choice. The Brazilian has been outstanding since arriving at Anfield from Roma and has kept nine clean sheets in his 19 appearances at club level this term.

Three of the back four in this particular XI were also extremely straightforward. It is difficult to name a better right-back in world football than Trent Alexander-Arnold at the moment, with the 21-year-old contributing 10 assists in all competitions this season. Meanwhile, Andrew Robertson is enjoying another strong campaign on the opposite side, posting two goals and six assists in his 30 outings at club level this term.

Virgil van Dijk also sails into the side having again been at his towering best this season, and the final spot in the back four also goes to a Liverpool player in the shape of Joe Gomez. Both Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen have been outstanding for Tottenham in recent years, but there is no question that the pair have dropped their level this season. What's more, it is difficult to pick Davinson Sanchez over Gomez as the Colombia international has also had some shaky performances for Jose Mourinho's side during the 2019-20 campaign.

For the purposes of this side and its obvious attacking nature, we have opted for two holding midfielders. Jordan Henderson has been outstanding in the middle of the park for Liverpool, but it would be fair to say that the Reds do not boast world-class players, individually at least, in midfield. The same can be said for Spurs, but the impressive Fabinho is unlikely to return from injury in time for this clash, while Tottenham's big-money summer signing Tanguy Ndombele is again expected to miss out for the hosts.

As a result, Harry Winks earns the second position in midfield. The 23-year-old, who will fancy his chances of securing a spot in the England side for Euro 2020, has not scored or registered an assist in his 20 appearances at club level this season but his use of the ball in this particular XI would fit extremely well.

Further forward, it was impossible to leave out either Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane or Roberto Firmino considering that they have been such a huge part of the team's recent success. The trio have scored 27 Premier League goals between them this term and are the most devastating front three in world football.

Harry Kane would have been the obvious choice to join them in the final third had the England captain been fit, but a hamstring injury will rule the striker out of this weekend's match. As a result, Son Heung-min takes the final spot at the tip of the attack. The 27-year-old has again posted impressive numbers for Spurs this term, scoring 10 times and registering nine assists in 24 appearances in all competitions.
