Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that Diogo Jota will not be available for Saturday's Premier League contest with Norwich City.
The Portuguese attacker featured from the off against Inter Milan in the Champions League but was taken off at the half-time break with a suspected ankle ligament problem.
Jota was pictured on crutches with his foot in a protective boot following the 2-0 win at San Siro, and Klopp has now provided an update on the 25-year-old's condition.
"The extent is still not clear. We need further assessment. It's something with the ligaments around the ankle. No chance for this weekend," Klopp told reporters at his pre-game press conference.
"Everything is possible at the moment. We have to wait. The protective boot is standard. We have to wait. I have no idea who we can start with."
Jota - who has bagged 17 goals and set up three more in 32 appearances for the Reds this term - is also facing a race against time to be fit for the EFL Cup final with Chelsea on February 27.
