Liverpool could be without in-form playmaker Philippe Coutinho for their Premier League clash with Southampton at St Mary's this weekend.
The 24-year-old has scored five goals in 10 Premier League starts for the Reds so far this season, helping them to the top of the table.
However, the midfielder picked up a minor hamstring injury while on international duty with Brazil and needed a scan on the problem yesterday.
Coutinho now faces a race to be fit in time for Saturday's game, which could also see Adam Lallana miss out against his former club after he limped off during England's 2-2 draw with Spain on Tuesday.
Georginio Wijnaldum is expected to replace Lallana in the starting XI, although the midfielder's groin injury is not thought to be serious.
