Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge has admitted that he is "champing at the bit" to return to first-team action following a lengthy stint on the sidelines.
The 25-year-old suffered numerous setbacks with calf and thigh injuries and has not played for the Reds since August.
It has not been confirmed whether the striker will be involved in this weekend's Premier League match against West Ham United, but the player himself has claimed that he is raring to go.
"It's a moment I've been waiting for for a long time and I've missed playing, so I will be excited whether it's this weekend, or the game after that or beyond that," Sturrridge told the club's official website.
"Whenever it is, whenever the manager decides to choose me to have some involvement, I'll be raring to go. I've been champing at the bit, as they say. I'm ready now. It's been a long time coming, but I am happy with how everything has gone and I am looking forward to it."
Liverpool are unbeaten in their last six league fixtures.
