How Liverpool could line up against Sheffield United

Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Liverpool could line up for Thursday's Premier League clash with Sheffield United.

Liverpool have received a double injury boost ahead of Thursday's Premier League clash against Sheffield United at Anfield.

Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that Andrew Robertson and Curtis Jones have both taken part in training this week and will be available to return to the matchday squad after recovering from respective knee and shin injuries - the latter is not necessarily ready to complete the full 90 minutes, though.

The Reds' boss has also confirmed that midfielder Wataru Endo has picked up a knock and will be assessed ahead of kickoff, while Alisson Becker (hamstring), Trent Alexander-Arnold, Diogo Jota, Joel Matip, Ben Doak (all knee), Thiago Alcantara (muscle) and Stefan Bajcetic (calf) all remain sidelined due to injury.

Ibrahima Konate watched on as an unused substitute in Liverpool's 2-1 win over Brighton & Hove Albion last weekend, but the centre-back could be recalled against Sheffield United to play alongside Virgil van Dijk, meaning that Jarell Quansah would make way.

Conor Bradley and Joe Gomez could retain their places at full-back, although the latter will presumably be replaced by Robertson if he is deemed fit to start.

Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai are both in contention to start again in centre-midfield, but the potential absence of Endo could see either Ryan Gravenberch or Harvey Elliott recalled to the first XI.

Mohamed Salah, Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz are the most likely trio to start up front, although Klopp may consider freshening up his attack by recalling Cody Gakpo, who started against the Blades in the reverse fixture four months ago.

Liverpool possible starting lineup: Kelleher; Bradley, Konate, Van Dijk, Gomez; Szoboszlai, Mac Allister, Gravenberch; Salah, Gakpo, Diaz body check tags ::
