Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has stated that Philippe Coutinho should be fit enough to play in the League Cup quarter-final tie against Southampton on Wednesday.
The Brazilian playmaker missed Sunday's home win over Swansea City as a precautionary measure after picking up a hamstring injury.
Klopp has stated that he will run the rule over Coutinho again prior to the trip to St Mary's.
"Philippe had a very intensive session yesterday [Saturday], but we decided two or three days ago that we didn't want to risk [him] for this game," FourFourTwo quotes Klopp as saying.
"Now I think he's fit. I saw him in the dressing room and he looks good. I'll have to talk with him tomorrow – I think he's ready for Southampton."
Coutinho has scored five goals in 16 appearances for the Merseysiders this season.
