Sports Mole takes a closer look at today's Premier League encounter between Liverpool and Fulham at Anfield.
Match Analysis: Liverpool 4-0 Fulham

Liverpool have risen to eighth in the Premier League with a convincing 4-0 victory over Fulham.

The Reds thoroughly outmatched their opponents at Anfield, as goals from Martin Skrtel, Steven Gerrard, Stewart Downing and Luis Suarez secured all three points.

Here, Sports Mole takes a closer look to see if the result was fair.

Was the result fair?

Yes. It was a non-contest. Liverpool dominated from start to finish and there can be no doubt over the result.

Liverpool's performance

8/10. The Reds never gave their opponents a sniff. From the first whistle to the last, they were in complete control. Jonjo Shelvey and Stewart Downing ran the show in the first half, while Glen Johnson and Jose Enrique got down the flanks well. It was a great team performance. At times, the game was boring - but that was testament to how well the hosts controlled the game.

Fulham's performance

4/10. Martin Jol's men never turned up tonight. They were beaten before the game started. Not once did they effectively threaten Pepe Reina's goal. Dimitar Berbatov was isolated up front, while Giorgos Karagounis and Alexander Kacankilic struggled to impact proceedings. It's exceedingly difficult to identify where Fulham excelled tonight. Simply, they just didn't.

Referee's performance

Mark Clattenburg had very little to do today, and was virtually a ghost. Just what you want from a referee.

Sports Mole's man of the match

Martin Skrtel: Strong at the back, and a constant threat from set pieces. The Slovakian was solid as a rock today.

Biggest gaffe

Daniel Agger missed a gilt-edged opportunity in the first half. The game was 1-0 to Liverpool at the time, so it could have come back to haunt Liverpool. Fortunately, it didn't. The ball broke to him inside the area from just yards out, but he skied his shot.

What's next?

Liverpool: The Reds travel to the Britannia Stadium to face Stoke City on Boxing Day.

Fulham: Martin Jol's men welcome Southampton to Craven Cottage, also on Boxing Day.
