Sports Mole takes a closer look at Liverpool's 5-0 routing of Norwich City at Anfield.

Norwich City crashed to their fifth defeat in six games with a 5-0 drubbing at Anfield this afternoon.

Liverpool dominated from start to finish, as Jordan Henderson, Luis Suarez, Daniel Sturridge, Steven Gerrard and an own goal from Ryan Bennett secured the points.

Here, Sports Mole takes a closer look to see if the result was fair.

Was the result fair?

Absolutely, and it could have been more. Norwich were completely outmatched.

Liverpool's performance

9/10. The Reds did exactly what they had to do today, albeit against a poor Norwich outfit. Daniel Sturridge and Luis Suarez provided more evidence of their burgeoning relationship, as they were the focus of most of Liverpool's attacking play. Their link-up play gave the visitors plenty of problems. Jordan Henderson gave another confident performance, while Glen Johnson was a constant threat down the left. Brendan Rodgers won't have a bad word to say to any of his players this evening.

Norwich's performance

3/10. Chris Hughton's men didn't turn up today - they were beaten before the game even kicked off. The Canaries could have gone ahead in the fifth minute from Ryan Bennett's header, but they rarely threatened after that. Grant Holt was forced to feed off scraps, while the midfield well and truly lost the battle in the middle of the park. They didn't close down effectively, and allowed their opponents time and space on the ball.

Sports Mole's man of the match

Luis Suarez: The Uruguayan was involved in everything, coming deep to receive the ball before driving forward, while also chasing down lost causes and generally making a menace of himself. He took his goal tally to 16 in the Premier League with Liverpool's second of the game.

Biggest gaffe

There weren't really any glaring mistakes. Ryan Bennett's own goal will no doubt take this unwanted accolade, but you see these every week. Raheem Sterling's initial effort looked to be creeping inside the far post, but the defender slid in to clear and got the final touch before the ball hit the net.

Referee's performance

Alexander Tettey should probably have been given a yellow card for a strong challenge on Jordan Henderson early in the game, but apart from that Michael Oliver had a good game.

What's next?

Liverpool: Brendan Rodgers takes his team to the Emirates on Wednesday, January 30.

Norwich: The Canaries welcome Tottenham Hotspur to Carrow Road, also on January 30.
