Former Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez has reportedly been added to Everton's shortlist of potential new managers.
Although no official confirmation has come from the Toffees, it has been widely speculated that current manager Roberto Martinez will be relieved of his duties at the end of the season.
A number of candidates have already been linked with the post, including Mark Hughes and Eddie Howe.
However, 56-year-old Benitez is now also being considered for the role, according to the Daily Mail.
The Spaniard, who guided Everton's main rivals to Champions League glory in 2005, is known to have a relegation clause in his current deal at Newcastle United.
Were the Magpies to fall into the Championship, it could tempt Everton to make an unexpected move.
