Liverpool winger Jordon Ibe has admitted that he is looking to capitalise on Raheem Sterling's departure by earning a regular starting spot next season.
The 19-year-old caught the eye in the Reds' 2-0 victory over Adelaide United on Monday morning, creating numerous chances and setting up James Milner's opener.
Following Sterling's drawn-out switch to Manchester City, which was officially completed last week, Ibe is now eager to make his mark at Anfield over the coming months.
"He's a good player, I'm happy for him," Ibe told Australia's Channel 9. "It's a chance for me to prove myself to the gaffer and hopefully I can get a chance to play in the Premier League."
Liverpool have now won all three of their pre-season friendlies, with games against HJK Helsinki, Swindon Town and a Malaysia XI side still to come.
