Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp has admitted that his side could have been better in a number of areas following the club's defeat to Newcastle United in the Premier League.
An own goal from Martin Skrtel and a late strike from Magpies' playmaker Georginio Wijnaldum ensured three home points for Steve McClaren's men, leading Klopp to criticise the Reds' pressing and organisation on their travels.
"With the situation Newcastle are in and the situation we are in, you have to say they deserved the win," said Klopp, according to BBC Sport.
"I couldn't see that we should have won, we were not good enough today. I don't know why. I have to see it again and know more about it but it was hard work.
"It should not be this hard. We could do better. We should play much more football, our pressing was not good. We were not compact - there was a lot of things we did not do well."
The defeat on Sunday brought an end to a four-game winning run for Klopp's Liverpool in all competitions.
