Former Barcelona manager Frank Rijkaard has not been approached by Liverpool over the vacant managerial position, according to the coach's agent Perry Overeem.
The 49-year-old Saudi Arabia boss has become a contender for the position following Kenny Dalglish's dismissal from Anfield yesterday.
"Frank has a contract with the Saudi Arabia national side for the next one and a half years - and he has every intention of seeing the contract out," Overeem told BBC Sport.
"If I say Liverpool is a fantastic club with fantastic history and is a job every serious football manager would be interested in it would be in all the papers.
"I can see the connection [between Rijkaard and Liverpool] but I haven't been approached. If they call me I will listen and speak to Frank, but it's up to Frank to decide. As far as I know he's committed to Saudi."
Meanwhile, Liverpool's managing director Ian Ayre has claimed that the club will not rush to appoint a new boss.
