Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers admits that his first season in charge at Anfield has been a "learning curve".

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has admitted that his first season at the club has been a "learning curve".

The Reds are guaranteed to finish in seventh place in the Premier League table this term, regardless of their result at home to Queens Park Rangers on Sunday.

"This has been a great learning curve for me this season," Rodgers is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News. "I probably needed it this year.

"I've been in football a long time and I came here because of the challenge to get Liverpool back into the top four. It is a monumental challenge but it is the reason I came.

"This is a footballing institution, a worldwide football club, and you are not only managing the on-field stuff you are managing a community here and that is something I am very proud to do."

Rodgers joined Liverpool in the summer following at two-year spell at Swansea City that saw the Welsh side promoted to the Premier League.
