Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has claimed that his players were "outstanding" in Sunday's 1-1 draw with Newcastle United at Anfield.
Yohan Cabaye gave the Magpies a half-time lead against the run of play before Luis Suarez showed great skill to get the hosts level on 67 minutes.
"We were outstanding," Rodgers told Sky Sports News. "Our possession and intensity was relentless.
"We went to sleep for the goal but I thought we deserved the three points. We just couldn't finish off the many chances we had."
Sunday's draw has moved Liverpool up to 12th place in the Premier League table.
