Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel has reportedly decided to challenge a Football Association charge of violent conduct.
The Slovakian defender was yesterday charged by the FA for an apparent stamp on Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea during Sunday's match at Anfield.
According to multiple reports this afternoon, Skrtel will argue that he accidentally trod on De Gea's leg in the closing stages.
The FA is expected to deliver its final verdict tomorrow. If Skrtel's denial is upheld, he will avoid a three-game suspension.
