Raheem Sterling: 'Daniel Sturridge will fire us back to form'

Liverpool winger Raheem Sterling feels that the return from injury of Daniel Sturridge will see his side return to form in the Premier League.

Liverpool winger Raheem Sterling believes that Daniel Sturridge's return from injury will fire the club back up the Premier League table.

Sturridge has been out of action since August due to thigh and calf injuries, and Brendan Rodgers's side have missed his presence on the field as they have struggled to find the net with regularity.

However, Sterling is confident that the club will return to form when the striker is back to fitness, which could come in their next outing against Crystal Palace after the international break.

The 19-year-old told the Liverpool Echo: "It will be a massive boost to have Daniel back playing. We have missed him and the more quality players you have fit and available the better.

"He gives us that threat in the box and he scores goals. We're all really looking forward to having him back in the team. After a defeat you usually want the next game to come along fast but I think having this break now can help us.

"We need to get going after the international break and start winning games to turn this around. Losing hurts, especially losing a big game at home. Every team goes through sticky patches but I'm sure we'll start climbing the table soon."

Liverpool are 11th in the Premier League following their defeat to Chelsea on Saturday.
