Sports Mole takes a look at who stood out during Liverpool's 2-2 draw with Leicester at Anfield.

Leicester City recovered from two goals down to rescue a 2-2 draw with Liverpool at Anfield this afternoon.

Steven Gerrard scored a pair of penalties to give his side the lead going into half time, but David Nugent and Jeffrey Schlupp both netted in the space of a couple of second-half minutes to earn a point.

Here, Sports Mole takes a look at who stood out during an entertaining match.

LIVERPOOL

Goal

Simon Mignolet: Was caught out of position when Mahrez hit the post early on. Could do little about either goal, but did do well under the high ball more often than not. (6/10)

Defence

Emre Can: Once again played in defence and brought an assured presence to the three centre-backs. Found it tricky to deal with Schlupp at times, though. (6/10)

Kolo Toure: Brought in for the suspended Skrtel and did a decent job. Was caught out once or twice, but made a couple of good blocks and tackles. (6/10)

Mamadou Sakho: Still a little shaky on the ball, but seems to be becoming a more commanding presence at the back. Made a fine challenge on Vardy and also made some vital blocks. (6/10)

Midfield

Jordan Henderson: Perhaps could have done more to help Can against the marauding runs of Schlupp, but all in all a solid display. (6/10)

Steven Gerrard: Two more goals from the penalty spot, and he took both of them very nicely. (8/10)

Lucas Leiva: Protected the defence fairly well with the exception of a two-minute spell. Both Leicester goals came from the space he would expect to fill. (6/10)

Alberto Moreno: Always a willing runner up and down the left wing. Had more to do going forward than he did defensively, but he never shirked his responsibility. (7/10)

Attack

Philippe Coutinho: Was Liverpool's most creative player, always looking to unlock the Leicester defence. Managed to do it on a few occasions, including in the build-up to the first penalty. (7/10)

Raheem Sterling: Caused problems with his pace and won the first penalty, but struggled to get much more joy for himself. (6/10)

Adam Lallana: Another good performance from the midfielder, who was forced off through injury in the second half. Came close with a couple of efforts. (7/10)

Substitutes

Fabio Borini: Missed a couple of good chances having come on for Lallana 10 minutes into the second half. (6/10)

Lazar Markovic: Also missed a great chance to give his side the victory when he nodded wide in the closing stages. (6/10)

Rickie Lambert: Was only on the field for five minutes but did flick one header on that led to a penalty shout. (6/10)

LEICESTER

Goal

Ben Hamer: Could do nothing about the goals, both of which were excellently taken. Most of his saves today were routine ones. (6/10)

Defence

Danny Simpson: Conceded the second penalty, but didn't really have time to move his hand out of the way of the ball. (6/10)

Marcin Wasilewski: Had a few tricky moments up against the pace of Sterling but overall coped with the youngster well. (7/10)

Wes Morgan: Very harshly punished for the first penalty as the ball struck him in the face rather than the arm. Formed a good partnership with Wasilewski. (7/10)

Ritchie De Laet: Nothing spectacular having been brought into the side for the suspended Konchesky. Didn't particularly do anything wrong, but may struggle to keep his place. (6/10)

Midfield

Riyad Mahrez: Almost broke the deadlock inside two minutes with a free kick that hit the post. Flashed a couple of other efforts close and was a handful for the Liverpool defence all game. (7/10)

Matt James: Solid performance in the middle of the park. Not the most eye-catching display today, but an effective one. (6/10)

Danny Drinkwater: Lasted just 37 minutes before being replaced due to injury. (6/10)

Dean Hammond: Plenty of endeavour and hunger. Leicester needed a spirited performance today and Hammond obliged before being withdrawn with 20 minutes remaining. (6/10)

Jeffrey Schlupp: Was a constant thorn in Liverpool's side. Caused Can problems on the left all game and capped it off with a nice goal. (8/10)

Attack

Jamie Vardy: Picked up the assist for Nugent's strike with a nice knock-down. Fared a little better after Nugent came on. (7/10)

Substitutes

David Nugent: Struggled to get any joy against the Liverpool defence until he volleyed a beauty of a finish home to make it 2-1. (7/10)

Esteban Cambiasso: Came on with just over 20 minutes remaining and tightened things up a little in midfield. (6/10)

Leonardo Ulloa: Replaced Vardy for the final 15 minutes and didn't have a huge impact on proceedings. (6/10)
