Liverpool head coach Jurgen Klopp will be without a senior left-back when the Reds meet Burnley at Turf Moor for a Premier League Boxing Day showdown.
During Saturday's 1-1 draw with Arsenal, Klopp was taken out by his own player in Kostas Tsimikas, who was outmuscled by Bukayo Saka on the touchline and clattered into his head coach.
Klopp was not injured in the collision, but Tsimikas grimaced in pain as he trudged down the tunnel to be replaced by Joe Gomez, and he is now confirmed to have broken his collarbone.
Tsimikas joins fellow left-back Andy Robertson (shoulder) in the infirmary, which also houses Joel Matip (knee), Ben Doak (knee), Alexis Mac Allister (knee), Diogo Jota (muscle), Stefan Bajcetic (calf) and Thiago Alcantara (hip).
Unless Luke Chambers is promoted to the senior ranks, Gomez will likely hold the fort on the left, as Trent Alexander-Arnold bombs down the right after registering a joint-record 57th Premier League assist for a defender against Arsenal.
Alisson Becker and Virgil van Dijk's spots in the backline are not up for debate either, but given the quick turnaround, Klopp may be tempted into demoting the injury-plagued Ibrahima Konate for Jarell Quansah.
Curtis Jones failed to impact Saturday's game in the same way that he did against West Ham United in the EFL Cup, so Ryan Gravenberch will now push to come back into the midfield alongside Wataru Endo and Dominik Szoboszlai.
Luis Diaz also sustained a knock to the knee against Arsenal, so Darwin Nunez is primed to form the attacking trident with Cody Gakpo and Mohamed Salah, who registered a 121st Premier League goal contribution for Liverpool - more than any other Reds player in history - with his equaliser on December 23.
