How Liverpool could line up against Nottingham Forest

Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Liverpool could line up for Saturday's Premier League clash with Nottingham Forest.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has a fresh injury concern to report with Roberto Firmino ahead of Saturday's Premier League showdown with Nottingham Forest at Anfield.

The Reds ran riot in a 6-1 thrashing of Leeds United at Elland Road on Monday, where Luis Diaz made his first appearance since October after recovering from a knee injury.

However, Firmino has picked up a muscular injury which is set to rule him out for three games, and he joins Stefan Bajcetic (adductor), Naby Keita (muscle) and Calvin Ramsay (knee) on the sidelines.

With Diaz now back in the fold, Klopp is blessed with the best possible selection dilemma in attack, as Darwin Nunez looks to force his way back in after netting off the bench at Elland Road.

However, with two goals and an assist to his name on Monday, Diogo Jota has surely done enough to warrant another start alongside Cody Gakpo and Mohamed Salah, the latter of whom is out to score for the sixth home game running.

Klopp's faith in Curtis Jones against Leeds was justified when the Englishman set up Jota's first, so Thiago Alcantara may be consigned to a substitute role again as Jones continues alongside Fabinho and Jordan Henderson.

Thriving in a hybrid midfield role, Trent Alexander-Arnold hit 50 Premier League assists on Monday at 24 years and 192 days - only Wayne Rooney and Cesc Fabregas have racked up a half-century at a younger age - and he will retain his spot on the right as Andrew Robertson bombs down the left.

Ibrahima Konate was at fault for Luis Sinisterra's consolation for Leeds earlier this week, but the Frenchman and Virgil van Dijk will protect Alisson Becker as ever.

Liverpool possible starting lineup: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson; Jones, Fabinho, Henderson; Salah, Gakpo, Jota body check tags ::
