Liverpool team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Leeds United

:Headline: Liverpool team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Leeds United:
Sports Mole rounds up all of Liverpool's latest injury and suspension news ahead of their Premier League clash with Leeds United on Monday.
Sports Mole

Liverpool will hope to bounce back immediately from their disheartening Champions League quarter-final exit to Real Madrid when they travel to Elland Road to take on Leeds United in Monday's Premier League battle.

Jurgen Klopp's team wasted numerous chances and could not break down an impenetrable Los Blancos defence at Anfield, and a goalless stalemate in the second leg saw Liverpool bow out of the tournament after a 3-1 first-leg defeat in Spain.

The reigning Premier League champions did at least manage to beat Aston Villa in their most recent top-flight clash, although the sixth-placed Reds remain three points adrift of the top four with seven matches left to play.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up all of Liverpool's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Monday's game.

Divock Origi

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Muscular
Possible return date: April 19 (vs. Leeds)

Divock Origi could not produce more Anfield heroics in the Champions League due to a muscular problem, and the out-of-favour striker is not expected to recover in time to face Leeds.

Curtis Jones

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Muscular
Possible return date: April 19 (vs. Leeds)

Liverpool affirmed that Curtis Jones's absence from the squad to face Villa was precautionary due to a muscular problem, but he was not ready to return against Real Madrid, so it remains to be seen if he will be passed fit for Monday's game.

Caoimhin Kelleher

Status: Out
Type of injury: Abdominal
Possible return date: Unknown

Caoimhin Kelleher has been nursing an abdominal problem for the past few weeks, and he was not ready to occupy his usual spot on the bench in midweek, so it will likely be a little while longer before the shot-stopper can return.

Jordan Henderson

Status: Out
Type of injury: Groin
Possible return date: Unknown

There is optimism that Jordan Henderson will be available for selection in the coming weeks as he works his way back from groin surgery, but it would be a surprise to see the midfielder return before the end of the month.

Joel Matip

Status: Out
Type of injury: Ankle
Possible return date: Unknown

Joel Matip is one of three long-term defensive absentees for Liverpool, with the Cameroon international's ankle problem set to keep him out of action until the new season.

Joe Gomez

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Joe Gomez continues to recuperate from the serious knee injury he sustained with England in November, and the centre-back is not expected to return to action until the start of the 2021-22 campaign.

Virgil van Dijk

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Virgil van Dijk continues to keep fans updated with videos of his recovery from an ACL problem, but as is the case with Gomez and Matip, Van Dijk is highly unlikely to return before the season concludes.

LIVERPOOL'S SUSPENSION LIST

Liverpool have no players suspended for this game.
