Swedish striker Rasmus Elm has revealed that he received an offer from Liverpool before choosing to sign for CSKA Moscow.
The 24-year-old also said that he had the chance to move to Liverpool's city rivals Everton earlier this year but is happy that he has ended up in Russia.
Elm told The Express: "There was indeed contact from Liverpool, but I must say that I find Moscow a much nicer city than Liverpool.
"It is also true that I had an offer from Everton in January, but I rejected it because I did not want to leave AZ in the lurch in the middle of the season."
The Swedish international forward joined CSKA for an undisclosed fee earlier this week.
