New Rangers manager Steven Gerrard is reportedly planning to raid his former club Liverpool in a bid to take Dominic Solanke to Ibrox this summer.
Gerrard was confirmed as the Scottish outfit's new manager in a four-year deal on Friday, with the Liverpool legend making his first foray into senior management at Rangers.
The 37-year-old will not officially take over at the club until the end of the season, but the Scottish Sun reports that he is already making transfer plans having been assured that there will be money to spend.
Gerrard has reportedly identified Solanke as one of his top transfer targets and is hopeful of pulling off a loan move for a player who has made just five starts across all competitions since joining Liverpool from Chelsea last summer.
It remains to be seen whether Jurgen Klopp would be willing to lose the England Under-20 international, although the promise of more regular first-team football is likely to appeal to Solanke.
Gerrard has also been linked with another player who has ties to Liverpool after speculation emerged that he is interested in bringing former teammate Martin Skrtel to the club.
