Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard is expected to announce that he will leave the club at the end of the season.
The 34-year-old's current deal at Anfield expires at the end of the 2014-15 campaign, with reports suggesting that he is unlikely to accept the club's offer of a renewal.
Gerrard has been with Liverpool for his entire career and is widely regarded as one of the club's greatest ever players.
The former England skipper has been linked with a move to the MLS to see out his career, with America expected to be his most likely destination.
Gerrard has scored 180 goals in 695 appearances for the Merseyside club, most recently netting a brace from the penalty spot in the 2-2 draw with Leicester City on New Year's Day.
He has helped the club to win two FA Cups, three League Cups, the Champions League and the UEFA Cup during his illustrious career.
