Hertha Berlin sporting director Michael Preetz has revealed that he is keen to open talks with Liverpool regarding the permanent signing of Marko Grujic.
The Bundesliga outfit won the race to loan Grujic during the summer window, and the Serbian has gone on to net twice from 10 league appearances.
Grujic is currently due to return to Anfield in the summer, but it appears that the German side are looking to keep the 22-year-old on a full-time basis.
Preetz told Kicker: "First and foremost, we're happy that we have Marko. I'd always prefer that a player helps me out for a year than not at all. We'll certainly talk to Liverpool about the next season.
"All the guys can help us make a difference in a season when something extraordinary is possible. That is our goal, and it would be wonderful to successfully take the next step together."
Grujic has only made three starts for Liverpool since moving to the Merseyside giants in January 2016.
