Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has said it "is not a secret" that the club intend to tie forward Sadio Mane down to a new contract.
The Senegal international, a £30m signing from Southampton in 2016, still has another three years left to run on his existing deal.
Reports emerged last week suggesting that Liverpool are in talks with the 25-year-old to keep him at Anfield beyond 2021, however, which would help to fend off any potential suitors.
Asked if there was any truth to the rumours, Klopp told reporters at Friday's press conference: "That we want to keep the players together is not a secret. We want to keep Sadio here - keep this team and strengthen it. It's completely normal."
Mane returned to the scoring trail with a hat-trick against Porto in Liverpool's last match, taking his tally to 12 goals overall this term.
