Liverpool are lining up a double January swoop for Southampton pair Virgil van Dijk and Sam McQueen, according to a report.
The Reds are said to have targeted the defensive duo to bolster their leaky backline and are prepared to hand over £40m for their signatures.
Van Dijk only signed a six-year deal at St Mary's Stadium in May, but The Sun claims that Jurgen Klopp is confident of bringing the Netherlands international to Liverpool once an offer is placed on the table.
It is also suggested that McQueen is on the Reds' radar after breaking into Southampton's first-team fold earlier this season, and Liverpool's hopes of landing him could be boosted as he is stalling on signing a new deal.
McQueen, whose contract is due to expire next summer, is seen as ideal competition at full-back for James Milner and out-of-favour Alberto Moreno.
Liverpool have history when it comes to signing Southampton players, having landed Sadio Mane, Dejan Lovren, Nathaniel Clyne, Adam Lallana and Rickie Lambert for just short of £100m combined in the last two summers.
