Manchester City and Juventus are reportedly considering making a bid for Bayern Munich midfielder Thiago Alcantara.
With just a year remaining on his contract at the Allianz Arena, the Spaniard is expected to depart the Bundesliga champions over the coming months.
Liverpool have emerged as the favourites to secure a deal for the 29-year-old, who could cost in the region of £30m.
However, according to Tutto Juve, the Serie A leaders and Manchester City are toying with the idea of opening discussions with Bayern.
Although neither side are short of options in the centre of the pitch, there is a feeling that being able to sign the former Barcelona man for his current asking price would represent value for money.
Thiago is also said to favour a switch to a different league, having spent his career in La Liga and the Bundesliga.
