Napoli sporting director Riccardo Bigon has rejected reports that the club are interested in signing Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli.
The controversial Italian has struggled to make an early impact at Anfield, having scored just two goals since his £16m move from AC Milan in the summer transfer window.
Amid the striker's lacklustre form in front of goal, rumours emerged claiming that Napoli boss Rafael Benitez is interested in bringing Balotelli back to Serie A, but Bigon has rejected such suggestions.
"It's a rumour told in Spain, England and Italy but I don't think it is a possibility," Bigon told Mediaset. "Nothing of what has been posted is true.
"Mario Balotelli is a really great player but he has been just signed by Liverpool who belives a lot in him. Best wishes to him in his English adventure."
Balotelli is yet to score in the Premier League, but has netted in the Champions League and the League Cup following Tuesday night's 2-1 victory over Swansea City at Anfield.
