Turkish side Besiktas will sign Brazilian midfielder Lucas Leiva on loan before the transfer window closes, a newspaper report has claimed.
The 28-year-old, who was left out of Liverpool's squad for the club's opening two Premier League fixtures, is said to no longer be part of Brendan Rodgers's plans at Anfield and will make a season-long loan switch to Besiktas, according to the Liverpool Echo.
"A loan deal is likely. It could go ahead within the next two days," said Besiktas director Erol Kaynar.
"Lucas is a player on our shortlist. Talks are ongoing," added Erdal Torunogullari, head of the club's transfer committee.
The Brazilian, who club legend John Aldridge called for to be included in the Liverpool side to face Arsenal on Monday, made 20 Premier League appearances for the Merseyside outfit last season.
