Liverpool have yet to open talks with RB Leipzig over a move for forward Timo Werner, according to a report.
Werner has scored 20 times and contributed six assists in 22 Bundesliga appearances this term, leading to talk of a switch to Anfield.
Speaking last week, Leipzig CEO Oliver Mintzlaff stressed the 23-year-old is "happy" at the Red Bull Arena and is not actively seeking a move away.
Talk of an end-of-season transfer continues to gather pace, however, with Bayern Munich also being strongly linked in recent months.
According to The Independent, Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is a big admirer of the Germany international and believes that he can slot right into the squad, but there have been no discussions between the clubs.
Werner is believed to be valued in the region of £48m by Leipzig, who are second to Bayern in the Bundesliga.
