Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has insisted that he has not given up hope of adding Yevhen Konoplyanka to his squad.
The club's managing director Ian Ayre has been in Ukraine over the last 48 hours to discuss terms with the winger's club Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk.
No agreement has been reached, but with the deadline fast approaching, Rodgers has revealed he is still "hopeful" that negotiations will end successfully.
"The timeline is tight but the club are working hard to make it happen and I'm still hopeful. We will have to wait and see," he told reporters.
It has been reported that Konoplyanka is keen for the move to be completed.
