Liverpool central defender Mahmadou Sakho has reportedly emerged as a transfer target for Roma.
Despite being a regular in the Liverpool side last season, Sakho was left out as his teammates started the season with a 1-0 victory over Stoke City at the Britannia Stadium on Sunday.
According to Calciomercato, Roma are keen on bringing the Frenchman to Serie A as they look to boost their defensive options ahead of Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa's proposed move to Lyon.
The report suggests that Roma will consider launching a move soon, but it remains unclear whether Brendan Rodgers would be willing to allow the 25-year-old to leave Anfield this summer.
Sakho joined Liverpool from Paris Saint-Germain for a reported £18m in 2013.
