Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli could be offered a return to Italy with Sampdoria, according to reports.
The 24-year-old only moved to Anfield last summer, but he has struggled for form all season, scoring just one Premier League goal.
However, Sampdoria president Massimo Ferrero has flown to England to hammer out a deal for the Italian international, reports Tuttosport.
Balotelli's wage demands, and Liverpool's determination to recoup most of the £16m they paid AC Milan for his services, mean that a loan deal is the most likely option, the newspaper adds.
