Stoke City winger Xherdan Shaqiri has reportedly been invited to undergo a medical at Liverpool.
Since the end of the season, Shaqiri has been linked with a number of clubs due to a release clause in his contract which was activated when Stoke were relegated from the Premier League.
However, it appears that the Switzerland international is closing in on a switch to Liverpool, with the Merseyside giants having met the desired fee over the summer.
According to the Liverpool Echo, the 26-year-old will now have a medical at the club ahead of a £13.5m switch to Anfield before the start of the new campaign.
The report suggests that Jurgen Klopp is an admirer of the player, having come up against him during his time at Borussia Dortmund while Shaqiri was representing Bayern Munich.
Shaqiri will leave Stoke having scored 15 goals in 84 top-flight appearances.
