Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly ready to press ahead with their attempts to sign Celta Vigo forward Maxi Gomez.
Harry Kane continues to be regarded as first choice by Mauricio Pochettino, but it is currently unclear whether backup Fernando Llorente will remain at the North London outfit.
The departure of the Spaniard would leave Pochettino needing to act in the transfer market, and the Daily Star claims that Spurs are ready to meet the valuation of Gomez.
The 22-year-old has a £43m release clause in his contract, and it has been suggested that Spurs are prepared to pay that figure in order to see off any competition for the Uruguay international's signature.
Gomez - previously been linked with Liverpool and West Ham United - contributed 13 goals and five assists from 35 La Liga outings this season.
