Lorient have been eliminated from the Coupe de France after losing 1-0 to minnows AS Yzeure.
Yzeure, who play in the Championnat de France amateur - the fourth tier of French football - stunned their top-flight counterparts at Stade de Bellevue, with Steve M'Bida's first-half strike proving enough to achieve the 'giant killing'.
The winning goal came on 24 minutes when M'Bida received the ball in the centre of the area and fired past Fabien Audard in the Lorient goal.
Despite being separated by precisely 50 places in domestic football, the hosts went in search of a second and almost found it 15 minutes later through Birane Ba, whose 25-yard effort narrowly missed the crossbar.
Former Arsenal player Jeremie Aliadiere had a good opportunity for the visitors midway through the second half but, despite having space, the Frenchman fired wide of the mark.
Christian Gourcuff's men failed to restore parity and the minnows held out to secure their passage to the last-16 stage of the country's most prestigious cup competition.
