Lorient have fought back from three goals down to earn a 4-4 draw against 10-man Montpellier HSC in their Ligue 1 match at the Stade du Moustoir this afternoon.
The visitors took the lead in the 26th minute when Remy Cabella fired a strike from the edge of the box into the top corner.
They were reduced to 10 men three minutes later, as Geoffrey Jourdren brought down Jeremie Aliadiere inside the box.
Aliadiere stepped up to take the resulting penalty and placed his effort into the bottom corner past replacement keeper Laurent Pionnier.
Despite their numerical disadvantage, Montpellier retook the lead in the 56th minute when M'Baye Niang curled a strike past Fabien Audard and into the corner of the net.
Jean Deza added a third goal for the visitors in the 78th minute with a strike from range and three minutes later Cabella slotted in a fourth.
Kevin Monnet-Paquet scored a second for Lorient with three minutes left to play and in the final minute Vincent Aboubakar fired in a third.
In the third minute of stoppage time Lorient completed the comeback as Aboubakar finished past Pionnier from Gregory Bourillon's pass to earn his side a point.
