Lyon are succumbing to a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Valencia in Tuesday night's Champions League Group H meeting at the Stade de Gerland.
The visitors were first to carve out a chance when, nine minutes in, Pablo Piatti's corner was nodded just wide by Aymen Abdennour.
Piatti was involved again in the 18th minute, the Argentine collecting Alexandre Lacazette's charged-down effort on the rebound and firing towards goal, but Anthony Lopes pulled off a reflex save to keep the ball out.
Just before the half-hour mark Daniel Parejo gave a free kick away in a good position, which Mathieu Valbuena opted to take, but the resulting ball was kept out by Jaume Domenech's emphatic diving save.
With just three minutes to go in the first half, Piatti played a pass over to Sofiane Feghouli, who edged himself into space before unleashing a ferocious shot just outside the box which cannoned off the post and into the net for the game's first goal.
