Lyon have moved into ninth place in the Ligue 1 table after a resounding 4-0 triumph over Lorient.
The home side opened the scoring as early as the fifth minute after Alexandre Lacazette fired low into the bottom corner after being set up by Clinton Njie.
Lorient responded positively through Raphael Guerreiro, who had an effort saved from an acute angle, but Njie was proving to be a major threat for Lyon and he forced a solid save out of Benjamin Lecomte from just inside the penalty area.
Lyon doubled their advantage with six minutes left before the interval. Nabil Fekir was given the ball on the right-hand side of the penalty area before drilling the ball across goal and into the far corner.
Five minutes after the restart, Hubert Fournier's side all but sealed the three points after Njie found the bottom corner from six yards after being played through on goal by Jordan Ferri.
Lorient were offering very little as Lyon threatened more goals and a fourth soon arrived with just over 20 minutes remaining when Fekir found the corner from 12 yards.
Lyon maintained their push in the latter stages but after failing to register a fifth of the night, they were happy to settle for their biggest win of the season.
