Lille have put a major dent in Lyon's hopes of winning Ligue 1 with a convincing 3-1 win at Stade de Gerland.
The visitors went into the match without a win in 2013 but opened the scoring after 27 minutes when Aurelien Chedjou headed home unmarked at the far post.
Lyon were stunned before the break as Lille doubled their advantage thanks to a neat finish by Florent Balmont.
Any chance of a comeback was extinguished early in the second half wen Salomon Kalou converted an impressive penalty after Milan Bisevac handled in the box.
Lisandro Lopez got a consolation for the home side late on from the spot but Remi Garde's men still slipped to a defeat that leaves them six points behind league leaders Paris Saint-Germain.
