Malaga won their fifth game on the bounce courtesy of a late comeback victory over 10-man Eibar at La Roselda this evening.
Raul Navas had the ball in the net for the visitors with less than four minutes played, but it was ruled out for offside. It was a similar story for Juanmi up the other end, who was also adjudged to be offside later in the first half after finding the target.
Having found himself in the right place at the right time, Mikel Arruabarrena fired home from a rebound shortly before the interval, and this time the goal did stand.
Saul Berjon came close to doubling the Armeros's advantage on 52 minutes, but his effort was kept out by Idris Carlos Kameni, while Xabi Irureta also had to be alert up the other end to deny Garcia Samuel.
Malaga did manage to level up the contest just moments later, however, with Juanmi latching onto a rebound of his own to make it 1-1.
Further chances fell the way of Samuel and Berjon, although neither could find a way through as the game edged towards the closing stages.
There was still enough time for Los Boquerones to find a winner, with Nordin Amrabat tucking away a penalty after Navas handled inside the box to earn himself a red card which compounded Eibar's misery.
Javi Garcia's charges move into the top six with the victory, while their opponents are down in ninth place.
