Viktoria Plzen have managed to keep out Manchester City in a goalless first half on the opening night of the Champions League group stage.
City started the first half brightly, with Jesus Navas firing a shot over the crossbar before Yaya Toure failed to hit the target with his header just a few moments later.
Plzen looked comfortable in possession and managed to cause the visitors a few problems but Joe Hart did well to keep out an inviting free kick with plenty of home players applying pressure on the goalkeeper.
Edin Dzeko had a great opportunity to open the scoring in the 23rd minute but the forward headed Aleksandar Kolarov's cross straight at Matus Kozacik from close range.
The Bosnian's strike partner, Sergio Aguero, came even closer just moments later when he struck the post with a low effort from just outside the box.
Plzen threatened to launch counter-attacks on a number of occasions but there lack of a cutting edge restricted their success in the final third of the pitch.
