Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti has said that his side will have to deal with "a very dangerous" Erling Braut Haaland if they are to overcome Manchester City in the Champions League.

Los Blancos will welcome Pep Guardiola's side for the first leg of their semi-final on Tuesday evening, before the return match takes place in Manchester on May 17.

Haaland has had a remarkable 2022-23 campaign for Man City, scoring 51 goals and registering eight assists in 46 appearances for the Citizens in all competitions.

The Norway international has 12 Champions League goals to his name this term, meanwhile, and Ancelotti has lavished praise on the 22-year-old ahead of Tuesday's clash in Madrid.

"Haaland is a very dangerous player. He is showing impressive quality and he is a danger but talking only about him means not talking about the rest of his teammates," Ancelotti told reporters during his pre-match press conference on Monday afternoon.

"We are planning a game to stop the whole team, not just Haaland. They look unstoppable but I think we can win.

"I think we are at the same level as last year. It is difficult to evaluate the physical condition and compare it with last year. The fact that we won the Copa del Rey will be an extra boost for tomorrow's game and we are very excited.

"What I can say is that Manchester City is a more complete team with the arrival of Haaland. Gabriel Jesus was very dangerous, but different from Haaland. They haven't changed their style.

"Maybe they play a bit more direct but it doesn't mean they have changed the style. They are very organised and they handle the ball very well.

"The plan for tomorrow is to play a complete game, bearing in mind that the decisive match will be the second leg. We want to take a small advantage tomorrow. Let's see if we can do it.

"It's a match that demands a lot from everyone and when you reach the semi-final of a competition like this, it demands a lot from you.

"Last year we arrived after three years without a win. Now we come here with a Champions League win last year. The fans are always excited to win this competition."

Real Madrid will enter the match off the back of a 2-1 victory over Osasuna in the Copa del Rey final, with Rodrygo scoring twice for Ancelotti's side in Seville.

Man City, meanwhile, boosted their Premier League title hopes with a 2-1 success over Leeds United on Saturday afternoon. body check tags ::
