Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko has expressed his delight with his side's victory over Viktoria Plzen away from home in the Champions League.
The Bosnian forward was on target on Tuesday as Manuel Pellegrini's team began their Group D campaign with a 3-0 win.
"The first half was tricky," BBC Sport quotes him as saying. "We had chances to score then I scored in the second half and after that it was easier for us
"I hope we will see the real Manchester City because the last two years were disappointing for the fans and the club. The target is going into the second round but we know it's always difficult.
"It's very important to get a run in the team. I think that we have a very good squad with some new players and they've bought a lot of quality. There are a lot of games before the end of the season so a lot of players will get a chance to play."
City failed to progress beyond the group stage in either of their last two Champions League campaigns.
