Samir Nasri believes that Manchester City will have no problems in reaching the last 16 of the Champions League if they play to their full potential against Roma.

Samir Nasri has backed Manchester City to qualify for the last 16 of the Champions League ahead of their crucial trip to Group E rivals Roma.

The Blues have to win in Italy on Wednesday to give themselves a chance of joining Bayern Munich in the next round of the competition.

Nasri believes that the Premier League champions will be safely through if they play to their full potential at the Stadio Olimpico.

"If we play our game, we will win against Roma," he told BeIn Sports. "The greatest risk is to play with pressure and to have this apprehension. If we don't ask questions, and we play our game, then we will do it. We have more qualities.

"If we are eliminated from the Champions League, this is not the fault of the coach, it is the players who are on the pitch."

City reached the second round of the Champions League last season before they were defeated by Barcelona.
