Ronaldo happy with 'job well done'

Cristiano Ronaldo says that it was a "job well done" from Real Madrid after their win over Manchester City.

Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo feels that it was a "job well done" from his side as they beat Manchester City in the Champions League.

The Premier League champions led 2-1 at the Santiago Bernabeu with five minutes to go, only for last year's La Liga winners to come back and win 3-2 courtesy of goals from Karim Benzema and a Ronaldo winnner.

The Portugal captain is now hoping that a victory over City will kick-start their league campaign.

"We've ended the game with the feeling of a job well done. We played well from the first whistle to the last," said Ronaldo.

"We could have scored a lot earlier and avoided that situation at the end. It was a crazy game by then. We were the deserved winners. It is said that when achieving something takes more effort, it tastes sweeter when you get it, and that's what happened tonight.

"We had to work hard, but our team always wanted to win. We felt we could score at any moment. José Mourinho spoke with us before the game and told us that something had to change. We had a difficult match but managed to score three times against the champions of England. I hope that this victory will now help us to improve in the Liga. We haven't started well in that competition and we want to change that dynamic."

Real Madrid face Ajax in their next Group D match.
