David Silva has claimed that Manchester City's recent exit from the Champions League has "damaged" the team.
City failed to get past the group stage for the second season in a row when they were held to a /1-1 draw by Real Madrid last month.
"To go out of the Champions League was terrible," Silva told The Sun. "It's a real pain and has damaged us a lot.
"All the squad was dreaming of a big season in Europe and now we are unhappy after stumbling for the second successive year."
The Blues conclude their Champions League campaign when they travel to German champions Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday.
